Bourbon whiskey, Moonshine and Rye Whiskey are the spirits the USA are most famous for. Distilling is, not surprisingly, brought over to the United States by Scottish and Irish settlers. Bourbon is so ‘All American’ that it was recognised by the Congress in the 1960s that it was “a distinctive product of the U.S.A.”. Well-known and popular American spirit brands include Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort, Wild Turkey and Woodford. Of course, America produces more than just bourbon and whiskey, it’s also home to spirits such as NY Distilling Co. Gin and MCormick.
